Don'T Be A Parrot Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Don'T Be A Parrot

Let’s not be parrots in God’s house
Weigh up everything said
Become as a humble church mouse
Feasting on Heaven’s Bread

Let’s seek the facts, The Truth on high
Seek Jesus whilst still near
Allow religion pass us by
And learn The Lord to fear

Let’s learn to love The Master’s ways
His righteousness His grace
His majesty, to ever praise
And daily seek His face

Let Christ be truly Lord and King
Let’s trust Him and obey
Surrender self with everything
Each night and every day

Look not to that which best is lost
Think not on filth and dread
However high in life the cost
Look to The Lord instead

Before the night when eyes grow dim
The eve of sweet repose
Let all our deeds be praise to Him
Our Darling Sharon Rose

Let love embellish ever word
Let grace be found within
Let truth that heart and soul has heard
Bring victory over sin

Until we see the final dawn
Until The Promised Land
Let’s live that others be reborn
In Jesus mighty hand
