Don'T Cry (Count The Blessings You Forgot) Poem by Dorothy (Alves) Holmes

Don'T Cry (Count The Blessings You Forgot)

Rating: 5.0

Don't cry!
Count sheep,
Or count the stars
In the heavens,
Or gaze at the moon,
Crescent or as it glows, smiling full.
Count the pitter patter
Of the rain drops
But don't you cry.
Count the blessings you forgot...
Count the hours, if you must,
Until sunset or
Until sunrise,
Then you rise up from your tumbled bed
And count the wonders created for your eyes.
Count the birds that fly and count the
Caterpillars and the butterflies.
Count the bumble bees buzzing by,
Count cloud formations in the sky,
Count the ribbons in a rainbow arched so high...
But don't you dare sit there and cry.

Dorothy, I agree with everything you have said here. Life is much too precious for crying. Tomorrow always brings a new day with new things to see and wonder at. Unfortunately not everyone looks at it that way. If they did the world would be a happier place. Top Marks from me. Thanks for pointing it out and sharing it my friend. David
