Don'T Cry For Me Poem by Jon M. Nelson

Don'T Cry For Me

I hope that when I leave here,
It won’t be without a trace.
Hopefully at some point in life,
I put a smile upon your face.
I tried to stop the hatred,
And the evil help erase.
I did what I could to make,
This world a better place.

I tried to make a difference,
And unite the world as one.
But now it’s up to others,
To help the task get done.
I want you to remember,
All the good times and fun.
Remember my life as beauty,
Like the setting of the sun.

Don’t shed any tears for me,
I’d like for you to celebrate.
Not because I’m no longer here,
But for what I tried to create.
There can possibly be a world,
Without prejudice and hate.
It is in the human nature,
I guess you could call it fate.

Even though my curtain closed,
The show must still go on.
For each day will continue,
With the start of each new dawn.
I ask that my legacy,
Will be attempted to continue on.
Celebrate what I did for you,
Don’t cry for me after I’m gone.
