Don'T Join Poem by Harlan Simantel

Don'T Join

Rating: 5.0

Don't join another church,
He said,
A thought from Jesus
Entered my head.

That suits me fine
I replied,
So tired of formality
In the churches I tried.

I'm on my own,
Found God inside -
For each of us
The place he abides.

This one really hits home for me! I have belonged to... let's see... many churches and many faiths... from Baptist to Methodist to Mormon and back to Baptist. Harlan, what do you suppose I am searching for? You are right! I found it right inside myself! Barb
