Don'T Need A Hero Poem by Janelle Morehart

Don'T Need A Hero

Rating: 4.0

I'm teetering over the edge
Someone save me
I'm falling over the edge
Gotta do this on my own
No hero today
No knight in shining armor
Don't want no Hercules
I can save myself
I will rescue my soul
I will fall over this edge
And I will fly
Fly oh fly so far away
Don't need a Prince Charming
No Elven man of the furthest woodlands
I'll save myself today
And the next day and the next
Don't give me a War Hero
Don't show me any Marines
I won't beg for the Army
I won't scream for the Navy
I am stronger than you think I am
I am smart as I need to be
I am no maiden in distress
I will do as I please
So don't give me any heroes
Don't throw me before the Gods
I am what I need to be
I will be the one
Who will rescue me
