Done To Prove It Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Done To Prove It

Here we go.
Again.
Unable to stop,
What is allowed to begin!

Conflicts!
With unending divisions.
Done to wish,
A victory to win.
That accomplishes what?
Peace?
For who?
Those determined,
To conquer and rule?
Over what?

An Earth destroyed.
To then in its place create,
Another what?
More conflicts and division.
More people making foolish decisions.
Determined to eventually defeat themselves.
Done to prove they can do it?
With rocks thrown from caves.

Here we go.
Again.
Listening to prophets.
Predicting what can be stopped.
Without a past to learn from it a thing.
Just to prove ignorance,
Is kept to remain,
King!
And the ruler that worships...
Destruction!
