Double-Dog Dare Ya! Poem by Robert Sheridan

Double-Dog Dare Ya!

Ya need to go well beyond your own
breaking point; get down to the nitty
gritty and become a 'black dog' with
fleas that'll itch ya; go well beyond
the point that'll make it impossible
to pass-up this challenge, so-as
ya don't appear to be totally chicken;
and what exactly is the taunt, well
read on MacDuff...
This has all been an obvious escalation
of my 'a taunting I will go' that must have
independently occurred to wanting you to
up the ante when I Double-Dog Dared Ya;
I've no doubt that my self-esteem could have
taken it back without much effort, but in case
ya hadn't noticed, I enjoy giving a challenge,
and don't think for a New York Minute that I'm
giving in; and now I'll summarize the whole
dad-burned thing - 'stick your freakin' tongue
on a flagpole on a snowy winter's day.'
*Editor's note - notice in no point in time
that I triple dare ya! '
