Down Behind The Dustbin - A Boy's Poem (Written When I Was 11) Poem by Jack Williams

Down Behind The Dustbin - A Boy's Poem (Written When I Was 11)

Rating: 3.3

Down behind the dustbin,
I met a dog called Lizzie.
I asked what she was doing,
'**** off, I'm far too busy.'

Down behind the dustbin,
I met a dog called Tom.
I said, 'What are you making there? '
He said, 'It's my new bomb.'

Down behind the dustbin,
I met a wolf called Jack.
I asked who he was phoning,
He said, 'It's just the pack.'

Down behind the dustbin,
I met a dog called Matt.
I asked what he was eating,
He said, 'It's just the cat.'

I really enjoyed this. Glad you saved it. A dog actually ate most of my childhood poems, just before he got himself run over. (smile)

Here's the title of yours I liked best. What a promising poem for someone 11. Thanks for your comment. I just now joined this site. Your other poems are stirring. My fave poets are W S Merwin, Yeats, Keats (of course) , and Frank O'Hara to give you 4. Nice bio too- I need to work on that.
