Dreaded Old House Poem by Revati Mahajan

Dreaded Old House

Oh the dreaded old house
Horrors wrapped inside
Windows shutting and opening
Black ivies climb the wall

The carpet becomes a tongue
Ready to roll you inside
The door opens as a mouth
Leading you to the death trap

The windows with its evil eyes
Will burn you down
The garden has become quicksand
Pulling you inside

The lamps and the lights
Putting off your life's light
The basement churns and churns
Ready to digest you inside

The chimney smokes daily
Smokes the remaining bone and meat
Dreaded old house
The horrors unleashed
