Dream Poem by Amber Lamm

The rain fell today and I stood in it and closed my eyes
I lifted my hands and began to spin
I hit the ground and just laid there thinking of you
I thought of being in your arms
Of your lips against mine
My smile grew as I got up and went to bed
For I knew that in my dreams you would be waiting

You take me by the hand and we walk in the rain
You turn and pull my to you and place your hands caress my face
You lean in and smile before brushing your lips against mine
You pull away take me by the hand and lead me on
We splash in the puddles and laugh at ourselves and each other
You slip your arms around me and pick me up starting to spin me
We fall to the ground and lay there trying to catch our breath

I prop myself up on my elbow and softly run my hand down your jaw
My lips catch yours and I feel you smile into it
You pull me down to you and hold me
We get up and begin to walk again
Stopping so we can share a kiss or a hug
A kiss is pressed against my forehead and I can hear your heart
My heart is racing and butterflies flutter a race in my stomach

I begin to wake and you begin to walk away from me
When full consciousness hits me, you are no longer there
I begin to despair but I know soon I will wake and you will not walk away
We are separated my time and distance but you are always with me
We will never let each other go
Soon all my dreams will come true
In my dreams we are together and soon we will be together out of them
