Dream A Little Dream Of.... Poem by Viola Grey

Dream A Little Dream Of....

Rating: 2.7

Sadly, now, we succumb.
The silent temptations
of slumber
drag us towards dreams
drowned in cold memories.

Like sad, sadistic lambs
we attempt to cling
to limbs long severed
of human emotions.
We simply wait,
as dreaded reveries
nod, wink, then leer
razored teeth.

Tomorrow...
we may sleep inside
peaceful, wasted nightmares,
but today...
we deliver
our souls to sweet Morpheus.

Extremely clever write - far better than my recent 'Sleep' and how strange we should both hit on an allusion to Morpheus. Great minds and all that! Seriously, Vi, this is superb.
