Dream-Built Shelter Poem by Willem VanVoorthuysen

Dream-Built Shelter

Rating: 5.0

I am ashamed, my sweetheart, to confess that
this earthly shell of mine still deeply yearns for yours...
I fear this hidden tremor may turn into a major heartquake,
unless your gentle spirit surrounds and soothes me
with overwhelming love the way you used to do.

That's why my stubborn heart, still learning to accept
our last goodbye, has built itself a secret shelter,
where memories, dreams and hopes, together,
may bring you back in spirit, to give me
a fore-taste of togetherness in heaven...
