Dream Of 'Flying' Poem by William Waterway

Dream Of 'Flying'

Walking in white bathrobe
in middle of field surrounded by homes and fences
people
walking by - living their day
I decide to lift myself to fly on high
“They will see me flying, ” I think
But no, their eyes stay downward
“I need to see more”
And, will myself to fly higher than ever before
I fly higher and higher toward the light
The world below appears as viewed by satellite
Then I try to fly through time
To visit my old neighborhood from childhood
All appears the same
The trees, the old dirt road, the garden
The feelings I had when young
before my true growth began
