Dreaming Of The Finish-Line Poem by DOMINIC PREMPEH

Dreaming Of The Finish-Line

I’ve always yearn
To actively learn
So one day I’ll earn
I’ve seen pain
In my quest to gain

Not all days are blissful
Not all ventures are successful
Not all routes are rosy
And not all my destinations are cozy
Lessons learnt the hard way

Broken hearts and shattered dreams
Tears descending and drying on my cheeks
Times go extremely bad
And expectations go dire
But I still hold my head up high

There’s a faint voice re-echoing finish hard
Igniting me, so I am never stopping
Or quitting
I am ending at the finish-line
Cos that is my destination
