A very beautiful poem, without dreams we can't improve, life has no objective, its worse than entering a rugby field without practising or even have an idea what to do. (Report) Reply

I think that the poet is talking about two types of dreams.
    1. dreams that die thus never return to life again
2.dreams that temporarily depart thus may come back
when we let our dreams die for whatever reason it is as though we fall into despair like the broken winged bird who will be living but paralyzed and immobile. life then will lose its vigor and all the excitement. there won't be any purpose to life. days and years may pass while we lay there crippled for life.
However when we let our dreams depart temporarily for whatever reason although we should have held onto it tightly despite the circumstances then it is not as bad as the first instance when we let our dreams die never to return. dreams that leave us will return someday as the earth that lays barren during winter only to spring back into life when spring returns. There are about 30 million people in the world today who have been forced out of their homes by political and religious strife. This is not how humans are meant to exist. A poet can exhort people to hold onto their dreams but, now there are 30 million whose dreams have been stolen by sociopaths. (Report) Reply

Wonderfully expressed within few words! Our hope and dreams keep us alive. We always live in dream of something better! They're our strength, our driving force that make us keep moving. They are as important to us wings to birds. The day we will lose it we will be paralysed... And our condition will be like the bird with no wings.
Dreams make our life warm and fruitful. So, we should hold fast to our dreams. (Report) Reply
