    Hi to everybody:
This poem contains a meaning that everybody needs. It means strength, when there is pain.light when there is darkness and hope that we all should have.A hard experience doesn't mean to give up and lose ourselves.A dream comes each morning and each night(each moment) .whenever we think, it is a dream and whenever we live, there is a dream (Report) Reply

Hi, dreams by 'Langston Hughes' in simple word is a fantastic poem, I like it so, because it is short but with deep meaning and great impact upon us. I think no one could stop dreaming, if do simply die, cause the dreams are the soul of our life, the sun of our days and... (Report) Reply

    For if dreams die
    Life is a broken-winged bird
    That cannot fly.

I think he is saying that without dreams life has no purpose or meaning just like a bird that can not fly someone without a dream cannot go anywhere they cannot fufill a purpose. I think he is just stateing his beliefe that dreams are an essiential in life.... its wonderful because its so much in so few words. =] (Report) Reply

'Dreams' is a great poem in spite of its shortness. Hughes used the right blend of simplicity and depth. When you read it you feel that everything is possible with dreams. Personally, I think that living without dreaming is similar to murder an innocent person. So be a dreamer now it is not late, because in the depths of despair you have nothing except dreams, and no one can kill them since they are parts of us.
Martin Luther King was a dreamer when he said: 'I have a dream' but his dream becomes a reality with the election of MR Obama. Achieving a dream is something possible if you trust God, yourself and work hardly. (Report) Reply

    Peace be upon you

Life is a non-stop battle and our dreams are the peaceful weapons we hold to triumph. I do believe that whenever I have a dream, no matter the encumbers that block my way, I'm sure, with God Providence, I'll defeat them and realize my dream. Because of that, I'm always blamed by my sister that I'm a 'dreamer' and seeing 'la vie en rose'. Going back to Hugues' poem, it definitely gives the reader a strong push forward to make his dreams come true. Brief poem, but it carries deep meanings. Hugues teaches rather than preaches: to hold on our dreams and Never Surrender. Because when our dreams perish our life never flourish
    Nice poem

Here bellow is my personal modification for the 'Dreams' poem

    Hold fast to dreams
    Fro when dreams wither
Life is a flying trees' leaves
    That can never be together
    Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go to hell
    Life has nothing to tell
And it turns to be a squalid cell (prison) (Report) Reply

I think dreams are reflecting someone's character; because in your dreams you can realize who you are... But sometimes you're abiding by reality and finding yourself throwing your high hopes and setting your dreams aside... (Report) Reply

Hello every body. Let me say' wake up and dream' You may think it is a paradox. I think no, this is the new notion I understood from mr Hughes poem'DREAMS'. Let us together live with dreams. I am sure that deep down every one is convinced that is true. Do not give up hope in life, just go on. (Report) Reply

this poem is really a very good image of the simplicity beauty. Since we don't pay for the dreams; let us dream. dreams can come true.the most important thing in the world began by a dream. dream and dream and dream when you finish dreaming so dream again :) . (Report) Reply

Hello every body. I adored the initiation that the poet uses in quickening people to dream. It is like we shouldn't think about because it is unquestionably good.In fact I started dreaming about good things that may happen to me once arriving to line three ' Life is a barren field' Yes it is unfruitful because even if it is luxuriant, it is certainly originated and made of bad things whereas in dreams there is no bad and everything is excellent. I also appreciated the word 'fly' as to be the most emotional good thing that may take place. So we shouldn't hesitate whenever we have the opportunity to dream. Thank you (Report) Reply
