I love this poem. I'm only 16, but this is exactly the reason I started writing. For perfect poems like this. They evoke emotions. (Report) Reply

Love this poem! Featured it in my blog: http: //darlafilthofframp.blogspot.com/

'I have to stop thinking of life as an already broken-winged bird, a flock of them that cannot and should not try to fly. I'm nineteen. It's okay to have dreams.'

This was the first real poem I CARED enough to memorize. As a young teenager it spoke to my soul. As a mother, it becomes my wisdom. As a woman growing older it reminds me to keep dreams alive. (Report) Reply

definetly, life is short but has to go far away thats why if we wants to go far away we should hold our dreams as fast as its possible otherwise life will b absolutely like barren field (Report) Reply

This's the ONLY time I'll ever read this poem.It conjures up past memories for me that are very depressing, and remindful of the things that've happened to me in my past life.Don't get me wrong, this poem is very beautiful....but for me, personally, I can do without the visions in my minds eyes of my past life, for it wasn't a good life. Imagine seeing a bird that has broken wings. It will never be able to reach to a higher level or go to greater heights. When a field is barren, it means there is no life or growth. I absoluting love this poem because it reminds us to never lose sight of our dream. Dreams give hope. It allows you to see yourself beyond your current state or situation. In your dreams you can see yourself owning and operating that million dollar business while you are living from paycheck-to-paycheck. Dreaming is the seed to reality. Never stop dreaming! This poem is the motto for my life, it motivates me to work hard. I'd never want a life as a broken winged bird or a barren field of snow. (Report) Reply

    He always surprise this guy.
The first time I knew of him was on that beautiful, the crows they killed TV station, Aramco.
I bought his books in Washington and studied him further and still he surprises me.
