Oh! that my young life were a lasting dream!

A small easily portable volume, with poems and short stories of Edgar Alan Poe, accompanied me upon younger days of travel, contrasting with different cultures and historical scenic sites. Later the 'Leaves Of Grass' by Walt Whitman also. To read and ponder masters like Poe and writings like 'from Song of Myself' by Walt Whitman gives voice to thoughts and questions generations of poets have no choice but to reflect upon. Their voices are an essential part of us. As they gave so we receive. We must ever return to the source of dreams to regenerate our souls. (Report) Reply

This Dreams is light hearted and interesting too unlike his usual works that are expressed in a mysterious and suspense way! (Report) Reply

One could see POE, in a rapture of passion writing this poem. A euphoric state, of a dream like state, must have inspired him to write these dream like settings of words, in a dream like flow. Only to reach his depths of elevation (Report) Reply

I absolutly LOVE Edgar Allen Poe... his work is amazing... and he was a very interesting man in life (from what I have read) ... dark, and sensative, with low self-esteem... sounds like we'd have great friends.. that is had I been blessed enough to know him, or even see him, or hear his voice... darn it sounds like I've got a crush on a dead guy, lol... but is he really dead? No. For we all live in through our words, and he has written many, many great words... (Report) Reply
