Dreams Of Life Poem by Curry Bascue

Dreams Of Life

You and I are in a world all our own.
A place where tears come from laughter,
Where melancholy means happy,
Where dreams shape the skies with beautiful pictures.
It’s all almost like I’m asleep.
The dream is my life now,
My life is now just a dream.
Every moment I fight to escape this word called “life”.
Life is an illusion.
Look deep in your mind.
Do you see that blue sky?
The vast green pasture?
That is life.
Life is what you create,
A blessing bestowed upon you to shape,
Life is a guide.
A blueprint of vast endless dreams.
Hold your dreams close to your heart,
They aren’t a hindrance,
They are your allies in the darkest situations,
Your joy when grief overtakes your emotions
A painting on a vast canvas reaching far beyond The Grand Canyon.
Let me give you an offer of a lifetime.
Come, take my hand.
I’ll guide you through the true meaning of “life”.
Through my own dreams,
And I’ll help you shape your own.
For dreams aren’t just dreams,
They are guides to the world,
That me and you created together.
