Dreamz Poem by Aparna Mirajkar

Dreamz

Rating: 4.8

The morning bloomed,
And the streets blossomed,
A waft of morning breeze,
Embarked from the trees

With a new zest
Unaware of stepping in distress
I walked to a town far most
Only to find that I was lost

Lonely I strode a few steps straight
And entered the unknown city
Ah! My eyes goggled
Watching the signpost “CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY”

Without wasting any time
I entered the campus fine
While loitering everywhere
I knocked a person down the stairs

He tumbled and stumbled
The crowd started to grumble.
Frightened I stood frozen out there
Cause to escape now I had to care

All eyes focused on me,
‘Cause this was the Climax you see,
But the humble victim smiled without any rage
I wondered whether he was a sage.

Down I ran behind that man
To apologize for my silliest crime
His cabin seemed 3 centuries ancient
His name plate read ‘Isaac Newton’

Confused I searched the calendar
To know that it’s 1668’s December
“How I landed here” I asked to me
“Would you spend an evening with me”, asked he

We roamed thru the town
And loafed over the streets
Exhausted and tired
We sat under an apple tree

He exclaimed
“oh damsel, an apple falling here I saw
And now am working on the gravitational law
But a new theory by which my heart was moved
And my love for thou is hence proved!

“ Oh damsel, thou art my love
My life is wanton without you.
Several feelings in my heart are buried
What fun if we get married? ”

Ahhh! ! ! Stood I with my mouth open wide,
As large as anyone can step inside,
The next moment I was on the floor,
And could hear someone murmur-
“To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction
3rd law of Isaac Newton”.

“Isaac Newton” my eyes opened wide,
Stared at my sis who sat by my side,
“Where is he? ” I asked her surprised,
She said, “In 1727 he has already died”.
