Drunken Lullaby Poem by Brooke McMinn

Drunken Lullaby

The drunken lullaby
That he sings
So calming and so sweet
But still it stings.
The pain inside
Cannot be masked
But the man on my bed
I am too scared to ask.
So I lay there in wait
Until he is done
Then cry my heart out
When he is gone.
He loves me and I know it
But still I cannot see
Why he keeps on singing
This drunken lullaby to me.
