Dual Seas Poem by Mark Heathcote

Dual Seas

The fate of love of friendship
Resides in the push and shove
Of dual seas, calm then gruff

At times cruelly demented
Two shores weathered by love
Fall apart - drift apart unexpected

Ricocheted by oceanic waters
They batten down lose sails,
Go down below ship quarters

Charting for calmer bluer waves
They lock down all hatches
Dreaming, sunnier promenades

Not lashed by sand, high wind
Just interlocking fingers, balustrades
Twigs of Tamarisk intertwined.
