Duality Poem by Edwina Reizer

Duality

Some people work all of their lives
Just to make ends meet.
And some don’t work a day in their life
And live on easy street.

Some people never get ahead
And can’t even pay the rent.
Some always seem to have gotten ahead
No matter where they went.

Do you think that this is right?
Do you think it’s fair?
Have you ever given it a thought?
Do you even care?

Some say they do and try to help
And others look the other way.
They turn their heads and enjoy the fruits
They live with everyday.

Their lack of compassion slaps at the face
Of mankind’s finest hour.
They are the weeds that try to strangle
Every blooming flower.
