Dusk Poem by Rebecca Randle

Dusk

Rating: 4.8

The street is endless
and dark,
and lonely.
The eerie silence consumes me-
devouring my thoughts.
I meet you there.
Where day meets night,
your eyes burn bright
Flickering-
like onyx flames,
clinging
so desperately,
to me
I cannot escape your stare.
The empty street pushes us away
the hollow curb pulls us closer.
We sit in awkward reticence
and watch the day stumble by-
Drunkenly,
on its way
to Eternity.
