Dust... Poem by Robert Mutsaers

Dust...

Imagine love gone to dust,
And you are cleaning this room,
After a decade of love’s gloom.
I enter this room of no despair,
Just like it used to be, your name and image to bare,
My hand and heart still your extension of prodigy,
When I remove the dust from my favorite memory.

Imagine me entering this room,
And you are removing the dust,
Of a hearts dependency that used to bloom.

I turn this page I touched so many times before,
The feisty image of me and my lover once more,
Feel the pain of hope vulnerably glow,
Through our lonely spirit that was meant to grow.

I slide this memory in the palm of my hand,
And surrender to the purpose of a life's friend,
When my breath merges time with a love's end.

I tender this groom to no despair,
Just like it used to be, your flame and footage to bare,
My vision and mind still your liaison of curtsey,
When I remove the gust from my favorite beauty.
Imagine love drawn to groom,
And you are clearing this bust,
For another decade of my hearts trust.
