Dwindling Faith Poem by asma bahrainwala

Dwindling Faith

Rating: 5.0

The deep cracks in the parched earth
Inflicted by the harsh rays of the sun
Lift their gaze on empty skies above
In hope of the heavenly flicker
That would rejuvenate them.

Faith that rain will come, but it grows hard, powerful image.

It is certainly a vivid image, that just as certainly corresponds to the human mindscape, sometimes. Mine, anyway.

They need the heavens to open and pour down a thirst quenching elixir. They like us, live on hope. Lovely write. Love Ernestine XXX

I guess this poem works on two levels...am i right? The disparity between the title and the content is a kind of a hint that there is something more to this poem than it appears on the first reading. Reuben.
