Dying Day

When your time comes
And your body goes numb
When the day is done
And your last breath's gone
Don't worry where your body goes
God's the only one who knows

Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust
The coffin rots
The hinges rust

When you're dead it's all the same
After all, you're just a name
So when death, comes to call
Don't forget the golden rule

Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust
The coffin rots
The hinges rust

Life's not over when you die
It's just beginning up on high
No more worries, no more pain
A whole new life you've come to gain

Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust
The coffin rots
The hinges rust
Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust

This is cool, a little bleak some might say. But it's just a fact of life, we all need to deal with it at some point. Well done. (Report) Reply

Poem of the Day

poet Helen Hunt Jackson

The month of carnival of all the year,
When Nature lets the wild earth go its way,
And spend whole seasons on a single day.
The spring-time holds her white and purple dear;
