Dying's Easy Poem by Bri Lynne

Dying's Easy

Why are you sitting in my chair she asked
Because I don’t know how to live I answered
What are you saying, she raised her eyebrows
I think it’d be much easier to die I sighed
Do you wish to do harm to yourself
She was so ignorant in her ugly suit
Dispairing, we live in a World where we can’t even speak
Where people learn from mistakes and forget in a week
So you feel hopeless, lost and lonely?
Forever I pondered my honest answer
Would she ever recognize a budding girl’s words as signifigant
I’ve not lost hope in myself for I would last
But all hope for this World has fallen like shattered crystal
I believe it’s tricks I’m not buying
I believe I’ll die whether or not it’s my choice
She looked shocked, frizzy even
I’d like to challenge your theory she continued
Tell me what is untrustworthy
My eyes rolled back like a hyena
For starters, religion and money
Lets buy into stories you made up yourself
And give the money to the rich
Middle-class is squeezed dry
Babies die in this World every day by the thousands
While the rest buy latte’s
And read about the cheap faces of our time
It’s enough to make me puke up
My breakfast of chemicals and preservatives
It’s hard to live when you’re not sure if you should even breathe
Because you might get some disease
In a World where we’re told what to think
Who to be and how to speak
A free country where nothing is free
Slottered any hope of liberty
She couldn’t even interrupt me
Women remain at the bottom of the chain
Kidnapped and tortured
Suicide has become many men’s dream
I’d need an hour if I started on the twisted Government
The leading cause of our demise
And I’m not completely convinced you’re not an alien
She almost choked
But like a faithful puppy to its master she began to diagnose me
She began with mal-nutrition, insomnia and anxiety
Finished with paranoia, depression, and perhaps A.D.D
With a long list of medicine to fix all my problems
Along with fake reasons why they would solve them
I laughed in her face saying what is my name
Is the name zombie printed here on my tag
I checked again to be sure it said BRANDIE
Ha! She was turning green
Perhaps I just know enough of what I shouldn’t
Perhaps all secrets do reveal themselves in the inevitable hands of time
And you are all a lie
She cleared her throat and said a harsh goodbye
I sighed once again, deciding
It'd be much easier to die
