Eagles Shall Soar Again
(Please look at this poem in both denotative and connotative manners.)
Eagles once soared freely over our dear land.
With strength they ventured side by side, hand in hand.
Their wings and feathers were praised with majesty
Because as they hover you’ll feel their glory.
But now it seems that they are turned upside down
Because treacherous birds took away their crown.
They battle against the threat of extinction.
Their chance of survival is still a question.
Return O eagles and regain your scepter.
All of your species must remain forever.
Let the birds of the air know what you can do.
Remind them of the things done before by you.
Eagles shall soar again and they’ll take over.
Our eyes shall again behold as they hover.
Witness the return of the kings of the air
Because they now overcame extinction’s snare.

(I wrote this poem after seeing a picture of a newly-hatched Philippine eaglet. They will never remain endangered.)
