This poet stands rebuked for letting his Muse down
and confining to earth his goddess of renown.
For this mortal man was so blinded by the flesh
that he failed to see her spirit of godliness.
I am horrified to have offended her so
and here confess my faults wanting my Muse to know
that this wretched man of such limited vision
had damaged her character by his derision.
