Earthbound, Skybound Poem by Aida Santos

Earthbound, Skybound

1
Earthbound.
My feet take root
its heart tied
to the images of myself:
Clearing the foliage
of hurts and pains
and joys in between.
I gather the Selves
torn like tiny shells
on a storm-ravaged shore.
Accumulated seeds of youth:
the chaos of loving
the tenderness of goodbyes
and I behold
a Self growing
in wisdom
hopefully
earthbound.

2
Skybound.
You grow wings
agile as the mind
bending with the wind
blowing from the east.
growing bubbles
of dreams, images
soaring in surrender
of the Selves
now breaking into hundred
little birds in the
summer of flights:
your heart flies
your mind soars
fires and frenzies
in the infinity of growth
skybound.

3
Earthbound
me
skybound
you.
And in-between
the vast
ocean
of possibilities:
when earth becomes
sky and sky
kisses the warm
coast of divided
Selves
in fusion of elements.
