East Of Town Poem by nic lippi

East Of Town

Rating: 5.0

I walked through on a forest
although only four trees it held
and I was glad, for I saw
I could not stand on a corner
and not see all of the trees

The tallest tree was the Elm
and on it was a school
They came to learn then left on it
but hardly noticed it was there

The next tree was the Walnut
and it never reached the Elm
it sat close at the side
but was blocked by Oak and Maple

The last two were the Oak and Maple
slightly shorter than the others
although on the Oak there was an entrance
and on the Maple lay the exit

I leave this forest wondering
if it will ever be discovered
and if it is
will I walk through on these woods again?
