It was a bubbly spring day, with the sun shining down
Daffodils and hyacinths sprouting from the ground
Children dressed in a spectrum of color, that brought joy to the heart
As across the lawns they'd run and play; one pushing a cart
All on a hunt for treasure, they searched high and low
I stood there taking in the scene, like Edgar Allen Poe
Taking a mental picture, to last for all of time
Writing it on paper, in a short poetic rhyme
