Easter Island Head Poem by Mike Adam

Easter Island Head

Easter island head
So noble and erect?

Body hid in earth
Eye angular to sky

Clouds scud and fly

Easter island head
So noble and erect?

Eye angular to sea
Tall ships under sail
Tall ships under sail

Wind billowing sail
White eye angular

Body in earth
Ahoy ahoy!

Easter excavation
Resurrection and those
Foreign sailors
Unearthing the nations

Oh polynesia
Rafting and floating
Mighty unpacific oceans

Americas of discovery
Asias of dissent

The only migration
Diversion
Desecration of myth
