Easy Thinking Poem by johnoe mc guckin

Easy Thinking

It's easier to sleep on and another mans wounds.
You can live in legends, die in folklore.
Never seing or feelings the reality of pain,
and bloody death.
Folklore is clean, sterile: -laying down the book.
Easier than holding a dying comrade, or staunching
the blood of your own wounds.
Simply take on the platitudes of politicans,
Their lies are easier to absorb.
Its simpler than tending to another mans wounds.
You can talk, talk harder to walk alongside
herioc comrades, feel their pain, their familes sadness.
Folklore you lived through never realising that
legends are ordinary men, and women refusing to
accept the slights, and wrongs of forgien merchants.
Declaring their right to steal by goverment decree.
It's easier to sleep in another mans wounds..
