Eating With The Metaphors Poem by Miroslava Odalovic

Eating With The Metaphors

Rating: 5.0

The first said
I’m the pearl
The shell of your silence
I dine
With monsters and sirens and sharks
And your friend the whale of the white

The second said
I’m that wave
You need to carry much higher
To the foam top and back
To your bottom haunt call
As your shores are always
As guilty as charged

The third said
I am the rock
Soil solid mute I swallow
Your booms against your bangs
And your black mountain crashes unsung

The fourth said
I am the time
You need to take me some more
Drag my starts to your finals
For your sand is as quick as dust

The fifth said
I’m the lotus
A water thrown deadline flower
Don’t touch me don’t smell for I’m
The thing you yet need to learn

The sixth said
I’m that paper
You need to fill me like glasses
To the brinks and drink me down
Be bold with your burden of words

The seventh said
Please be seated
I’m the feast of your choice
I’ll let you come close to my cup
I’ll give you something to eat
Until your life breaks fast
