Eclipse Poem by Thomas Ware

Eclipse

When the light is gone,
When the day falters,
When hope dies,
The midnight rage monsters,
Come out to play,
The dark aces of spades,
You cannot fight only run,
Or become one.

Hide in the darkness,
Your bane can become your shield,
If you are careful just leave the death to others,
Kneel.

You cannot save them,
Just barely save yourself,
Cower deep within the fastness of living hell.

The purge is outside;
The storm raging,
Fires of chaos run rampant,
But not forever.
The eclipse is ending,
The great lights appear,
The shades flee back to the nightmare of their own fear.
You are safe now,
Look around you,
The wise hid but the innocent lay dead,
The bodies all around,
The blood in pools spreading,
Nothing you can do but forget.
