Edge Poem by Sarah Kozlowski

Edge

Rating: 5.0

On the edge
Teetering
Ready to plunge to certain doom
Prepared for the fall
For the darkness
Waiting to slam into the hard earth and explode
Rocking on the edge of death
What drove me to this place?
Memories pierce my soul
Bottles, blood, betrayals
Depresseion, pain, isolation
Help was offered always
But I refused it all
Plodded on towards the edge
Now it's too late to turn back
So many things left undone
So many words left unsaid
On the edge of my demise
Weeping for myself
Does anyone hear my pain?
Does anyone care anymore?
I'll never know now
Ground rushing up to meet me
Falling
Over the edge
