Eglantine Poem by John Bannister Tabb

Eglantine

Sweet Eglantine, this breath of thine-
Mute eloquence of what was mine-
Awakes a memory divine,
A vanished gleam

Of Joy, that in my heart today,
Amid the folding shadows gray,
Doth lie, as erst in light it lay,
A fragrant dream.
