El Regalo De La Luna Poem by Paolo Dela Cruz

El Regalo De La Luna

A heart beat turned a thousand
Veins creeping all over my body
My torso battered and bludgeoned;
I'm slowly loosing grip of my sanity

The moon shimmers and with its glow
I screech in agony and pain
A monster behind a willow
Altering his flesh to an impenetrable armor of fur

I am a monster in disguise
A predator under his prey's skin
Tonight this behemoth will arise
That will once again spread blood upon my chin

Body parts dilating, nails turning razor sharp
Fangs piercing out of my mouth
My howls stretching thru the desert scarp
Echoing with the cold wind of the south

I'm bound to hunt with the moon by my side
With its aid i am invincible
The hunger for blood i can no longer hide
Tonight, this is going to be one wild ride...
