Electric Love Poem by Kevin Patrick

Electric Love

Rating: 5.0

cruising in stasis, in a high-rise oasis
its a 70s future, all cream chic and daydream
We got voice active lightning, in stereo sound
smart couches so luscious white leather and bound
black glossy consoles and the fanciest models
on a 360 degree TiVo in high def. mount
we got tinted blinds, and a discothèque floor
all plush open concept, with the latest decor
if heaven came knocking Id send her backpacking
because I'm already living in the best afterlife

here's spaces so spacious their geek lascivious
all sterile perfection in rockwellian style
the latest games andbest creature features
of an infinite selection forhome theatres
in my sky riding mansion, of circuit seduction
A touchscreen interface is the best user date
fashionable gizmos, and latest kitchen gadgets
all part of the trends and Teslas magic
if your born lonely you''ll won't be bored long
Here's more pretty toys, for the living dead playboys

No human affection, just endless possessions
cure for the blues my constant companion
You came with the package, ready to service
fresh face Ingénue, unnaturally earnests
a soft skin of plastic, her touch is fantastic
your lips were like vinyl, so red and delicious
looks from a catwalk cosmopolitan dressed
immaculately poised for her amoral best
it took her awhile, for her program to smile
her eyes were a void my love couldn't drown

with haute culture grace, no expressions traced
she sat on the couch, my most treasured furniture
a star studded Scarlett, her feelings synthetic
Except for a tear, that was mostly cosmetic
then sparks of arousal start sins sweet carousal
a statical rush, in a perfume of ozone
distilled through the air, scented current breath
taste the sweat of short-circuit flesh
from my double d- Doll with a triple a recall
I plugged her in, she unplugged my mind

you never have to feel alone
when your living high on Wi-Fi
No need for personal contact
when we have instant connection
Say goodbye to loneliness
and let your feelings drown

I hope and pray our lifestyle never degenerates to this point that we derive companionship from robots and possessions. Extraordinary piece of writing, my friend. 10+++
