Elemental Haiku Poem by Lindsay Fleenor

Elemental Haiku

Like rain to the ground
you cry out and I will come
sorrow drowns in me.

Like flames near your skin
I shall warm and comfort you
all pain burned away.

Like wind through the trees
my love shall come with each breeze
I blow away hurt.

Like earth beneath you
I strengthen and guide you home
always in my heart.

Like spirit in you
held together with my will
you are complete now.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this at 2 or 3 in the morning the other night. I had no real reason to other than to write what the elements make me feel and how they relate to my life and religion.
