Elena Poem by Kenneth Sorenson

Elena

I can see you in between notes,
for silence is you in my mind.
I can't see you crying in your bed,
just feel your presence in my chest,
beating again and again to remind me.
Remind me of all the flowers blooming,
between you and me.
Of all the smiles I miss.
So God, let me swim
in the tide of dreams
With her I might for
all the pain and sorrow.
Oh, let me sleep now,
let me rest,
so she can wake me up tomorrow.
