EMBRACING TODAY

Why must I spoil my day with to-morrows
thoughts,
Or by intrusions of past regrets -
Protruding into today's thoughts?
This day is mine, bedecked with sparkling
gems of twenty-four hours;
Once gone, shall never return!
So let me not pine for what has been
left out,
Or what is not!
Instead, let me with love embrace,
and greet this day;
Letting all past regrets melt away,
For today is all mine,
Today is all that I have got!
