Embracing Your Death Poem by James Callos Jordan

Embracing Your Death

Rating: 5.0

Are you ready to die?
And let your flesh be ashes,
Your memories be a fragment
Of the short time that is existence?

Fear. Is it eating you alive?
Or praying for your death?

Are you ready to die?
And leave all the things
That makes you love and smile
And say what a wonderful life.

Doubt. Have you done everything?
That you ever wish and want?

Are you ready to die?
And no longer sense
All that is to be sensed;
Flavor, scents, sounds, scenes and feel.

Anxiety. Of what is expected after life.
Knowing that death is ticking away.

Are you ready to die?
Or are you ready to live?
To live your life
And make some sense about it.
