Emotional Drought Poem by Bryn Morgan

Emotional Drought

You strike me down with contempt

A mindless pawn in your emotional games...

And I can't help myself

From drowing in your eyes

While my crooked mind wanders the empty lands

Behind that smile...

And when you kiss me deeply

I feel that emptiness

It's vastness like the chasms of hell

Swallowing me up

Sucking the energy from my being...

When the time comes and you hold me in your arms

I am a dried husk of bitterness

That crumbles like ash

And blows away....
