Emptiness Poem by Joanna Pavlides

Emptiness

Rating: 4.8

So many lies
But I believed them all
I wanted to run
But I stayed

And paid
A bitter price
For giving love
You asked for

No tears
Want to drop
No scream will come
Out of me

The numbness
The chill
Hardness of the heart
I can only feel

The time
Stands still
The only thing
That can heal

The emptiness

Lovely poem depicting disappointment and heartbreak occasioned by an enforced end of bliss of love. Vain glorification of beauty insightfully portrayed in the piece. A good poem indeed. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.

The emptiness you feel, caused by one who deserted love, is only a brief moment in time; though, seems an eternity. Your words will open your heart to the fullness it hungers for, for the love that it craves... in time. Amazing Write Joanna! So heartfelt and raw. LOved it! ! ; -) -Kelly.
