Empty Poetry Poem by Katz Haus

Empty Poetry

The loneliness of poem-writing
Lies inside the fact
That the people who would most understand them
Are the people who would least likely read them;
Do we really want the object to know the subject?
And so, we resort to gathering empathy from random strangers
And still feel unfulfilled, alone.

It seems that all artists are alone, regardless of the medium and maybe because of it. A teacher on reading a poem I wrote told me you are headed for a lonely life if you keep this up. At the time I did not know what she meant, but this poem reminds me..... Beautiful and intense. Very well done Michael
