Encourage Your Children Poem by Robert Peacock

Encourage Your Children

Encourage Your Children
To Do Wonderful Things
To Soar With The Eagles
On Unbounded Wings

Help Them Think For Themselves
When They're Making Decisions
Let Them Be Who They Are
Without Making Revisions

Never Seek Compensation
For Your Own Inadequacies
When You Sit Down With Them
To Plan Their Life's Strategies

For If You Push Them To Hard
In Unwanted Directions
You'll Spawn Nothing But Contempt
And Vain Insurrections

So The Proudest Moment
Of Any Good Parent By Far
Is When A Child Gains The Strength And Wisdom
To Show You Who They Really Are

Encourage Your Children

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Inspired by Robin Williams and the movie Dead Poet Society.I'm not sure if it's a summary of my thought about this movie or a letter to my Father.
