End In Sight Poem by Ima Ryma

End In Sight

The black rhino does not see well.
That is why we are dangerous.
We see something, but cannot tell,
And so we charge to protect us.
We need protection from mankind,
Who unkindly kill us in greed,
Believing our horns are lined
With potions sickly humans need.
The last that many of us see -
The human with intent to slay,
Bringing us down with weaponry,
Then comes hacking the horns away.

In pain, the tears flow from each eye.
We watch and wait until we die.
