Endeavor (Childhood) Poem by Lee Gelis

Endeavor (Childhood)

The rain is falling, ever falling,
Falling like time, ever coming,
The window, keeps it silent, so
In my head I hear the drumming.
The clock is ticking, ever ticking,
Ticking like rain, ever falling,
I sit by the window because
The rain is my calling.
The people in the room wish to smile,
As I wonder about their meaning,
But they wish also for glory,
The raindrops too are gleaming,
This is the day, possibly,
The one I may remember,
But a new door opens even so,
Just three months till September.
